Simplex Radio Comms

Simplex radio communications is where a single frequency is used for the TX and RX operation. A radio transmits on a frequency and the receiving radios receive on that frequency and replies on the same frequency. This is Radio to Radio operations and requires no infrastructure for communications, this is the simplest form of two-way radio comms.

To achieve a greater range from a Two-Way radio solution a repeater installed at a high or central point is used. This can dramatically improve the range and overcome structural and geographical obstacles. When using a repeater 2 frequencies are required and the repeater is receiving and transmitting at the same time. This process is call Duplex mode of operation.
